About Debi Hall

Professor Debi Hall teaches English at various universities, and has finally answered the question heard round the world: How in the world or out of the world did Woodstock 1969 happen?

Once in a blue moon, children bring their dreams to God and the answer is “Yes” – and the road rises up to meet the dreamers and elements conspire to make the dream happen against all odds. On a day, Michael Lang made a call to young Capitol Records exec Artie Kornfeld. An instant friendship formed, and the two spoke of concerts and recording studios and music and a festival. The fantasy reached the heavens, and God said, “okay let’s do it.” And the rest is history…a glorious catastrophe of epic proportions. This essay is dedicated to those two starry-eyed kids.
